Alegría has participated in international arbitrations administered by the ICC, CIAC, ICSID, and ad hoc arbitrations subject to UNCITRAL rules in various sectors such as construction, energy, mining, oil, commercial, government contracts, insurance, among others. She is also active in local arbitration. She has extensive experience in judicial litigation related to arbitration, such as annulment proceedings and enforcement of foreign and local awards. She also advises companies in pre-litigation negotiation and mediation processes.
Alegría has been an international arbitrator at the International Arbitration Center of Madrid (CIAM). She is president of the Ecuadorian Chapter of the Spanish Arbitration Club. She is co-chair of the Woman Way in Arbitration youth group. She is secretary of the Permanent Observatory on the State of Arbitration in Latin America (ALARB). She is a collaborator for Ecuador at the Institute for Transnational Arbitration. She is a professor of Arbitration and Legal Research Techniques at Universidad Hemisferios and coach of the arbitration team.
