Edgar is known for specializing in complex civil, commercial, constitutional, public procurement and administrative litigation cases. He also actively participates in the defense of clients in investigations by the office of the Comptroller General. Edgar is notable for his involvement in negotiations in the private sector as well as with public sector institutions.
He advises and defends clients in all procedural stages including representing clients at the National Court of Justice and the Constitutional Court. He is recognized for his knowledge of and expertise in the Ecuadorian procedural system. He also has extensive experience in domestic and international arbitration involving commercial and investment disputes.
He is responsible for strategy in cases handled by the firm’s Dispute Resolution area.
Edgar is regularly invited to be a panelist or speaker at various forums on dispute resolution and he is a professor in civil and procedural law at several universities, both at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Furthermore, he is an independent arbitrator and part of the list of arbitrators of the Arbitration Centers of the Quito Chamber of Commerce, Universidad San Francisco de Quito and Fedexpor.
He is also part of the firm’s Compliance and Public Procurement teams.
