Esteban is a member of our corporate practice. He has extensive experience in corporate law, corporate governance and bankruptcy law.
Esteban has a law degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador and a master’s in law from Universidad Andina Simón Bolivar. He is an expert in corporate law, commercial law, bankruptcy law, corporate governance and new corporate forms, and he has advised major companies on corporate matters. He has worked on the preparation of various bills and draft bills to develop legislation in his areas of expertise. These include the regulation of simplified stock corporations; regulation of Collective Interest and Benefit Companies; the Ecuadorian Code of Corporate Governance; the Law to Modernize the Companies Law; Amendments to the Companies Law for Business Optimization and Promotion of Corporate Governance; the draft bill for the Corporate Reorganization Law, and the draft bill for the Corporate Enforcement Law. Esteban served as the Companies Director for Quito at the Superintendency of Companies, Securities and Insurance. He is also a university professor of corporate, commercial and stock market law at several national and foreign universities. Esteban has written various academic articles in his areas of expertise, and he is a columnist for Forbes Magazine.
