Francisco leads the Intellectual Property and Personal Data Protection practice areas at PBP. He has 27 years of experience advising in the fields of entertainment, copyright, trademarks, franchises, new technology and data privacy, and he manages the strategy for large domestic and international trademark portfolios.
He has been recognized by Chambers and Partners as one of two Ecuadorian IP lawyers ranked in Band 1, by IP Stars Managing IP as a Trade mark and Patent Star, and he has been designated Gold by World Trademark Review.
Francisco has presided over the most important local IP associations such as the Ecuadorian Intellectual Property Association (AEPI) and the Ecuadorian Group of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI). He has been an Ecuadorian delegate on the Ecuadorian Board of Directors at the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI) and a representative of the Chambers of Production at IEPI (now SENADI – National Service for Intellectual Rights). On the academic side, he has been a Professor of Intellectual Property at local universities and a speaker at various forums in Ecuador and internationally.
