Juan Carlos is a member of our Dispute Resolution team.
Juan Carlos concentrates his practice on dispute resolution in both domestic and international litigation. He is admitted to practice in Ecuador and New York.
In international arbitration, he has worked on commercial proceedings under UNCITRAL, ICC and IACAC rules, as well as investment arbitration under ICSID rules. In these, he has represented clients from various industries like oil, mining, construction and telecommunications. He also offers preventive advice to foreign clients on protecting their investments.
Juan Carlos is also experienced in domestic litigation. He regularly represents clients in commercial, civil and adversarial administrative cases. He has represented clients in the recognition of foreign judgments and the enforcement of international awards.
Juan Carlos is a Professor at Universidad San Francisco de Quito and at Universidad de las Américas where he teaches various courses on civil law.
