Juan Manuel concentrates his practice on corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, financing, and domestic and international arbitration.
In the corporate area, Juan Manuel has advised sellers and buyers (including strategic funds and venture capital funds) on domestic and transnational acquisitions of listed companies and private companies, carve-outs, asset transfers, joint ventures, complex corporate transactions and acquisitions of companies in financial crisis. He has extensive transactional experience in various sectors including retail, food and beverages, telecommunications, mining, oil and gas, energy, industrial and manufacturing, financial entities, insurance, financial services and fintech, agroindustry, health and pharmaceuticals, logistics and transport, and technology. He also actively participates and has broad experience in capital market transactions, and corporate and project financing.
In the field of arbitration, Juan Manuel concentrates his practice on international commercial arbitration and investment arbitration, particularly disputes involving Latin American parties. He has extensive experience in multiple international arbitrations representing private parties, transnational companies and investment funds at renowned institutions.
He has acted in arbitrations at the principal arbitration bodies such as the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), the Santiago Arbitration and Mediation Centre (CAM Santiago) and the Madrid International Arbitration Center (CIAM).
He often acts as an arbitrator in domestic and international cases.
